I think time keeps going faster every day! We had Lydia's one-year old pictures taken almost a month ago, and I'm finally getting them on the blog! She was a trooper and our photographer did an amazing job...we love how they turned out.
It still amazes me how much Lydia keeps changing and learning all the time. She is no longer a "walker," she outright runs everywhere now! Lydia is eating very well and has even started to like juice again this month! We still haven't quite given up the bottle yet, but she's only getting 4 oz. before bedtime. She really started drinking more whole milk over the past week or so. Before, she wasn't a huge fan of it yet! One of our biggest changes this past month has been going down to one nap in the afternoon! Lydia has never been a great napper, and I was hoping this would help. However, she seems to still only sleep for about an hour or a little more in the afternoon :(
Lydia is still busier than ever! When she's not running from room to room, she's become the queen of emptying things: the tupperware cupboard, laundry baskets, the dishwasher (helpful when it's clean, not so much when it's dirty!), the dryer when Mommy's trying to put wet wash into it, Mommy's shoe bin, her toy and book bins, etc. Lydia has developed a love for looking at pictures this month and often yells and points to the people on our fridge. When she sees a picture of herself, she smiles and points to herself! She still loves Curious George and reading any type of book, balls, her grandparents, playing chase and peekaboo, dancing, opening any doors/drawers that aren't locked, and chewing on socks.
Lydia has become a huge Mommy's girl since her first birthday...practically overnight! The only times she really displays any "separation anxiety" is when I have to leave her at night with Dan. There is a lot of wailing and flailing that goes on! If I sneak out of the house, she will be fine for awhile until she starts to search the house for me and realizes I'm gone. Lydia is also not a fan of the church nursery lately!
Lydia is "talking" more and more all the time, too. Most of the time I haven't a clue what in the world she's saying, so I probably shouldn't agree to any of it! Besides the words she has already been saying, we've heard her say these words: more, done, baba (papa/grandpa). She also says "buh," but that could refer to one of three things: book, bath, or bread (some of her favorite things!). Lydia can point to her ears and mouth consistently, and she sometimes will get her nose and fingers correct. She's really good at finding Daddy's belly (Mommy may have encouraged that a bit!). The little stinker has also started to shake her head "no" when she knows she's not supposed to be doing something, but she does it anyway and runs when I go to discipline. Oh boy!
We've got a little live wire on our hands, but she's ours! Love her to pieces!
