Lydia - October 2016

Lydia is obsessed with all of her "friends!"
Another month has flown by with plenty of activity!

Some highlights from October:
-Playing at the park with Vermeer cousins
-Mommy finally feeling that you have the hang of this potty thing (only to relapse about a month later...)
-Going to Scarecrow Farm with friends
-Eating pizza with lots of Moss cousins
-Going to Kindermusik
-Going to Pumpkinland
-Trick-or-treating

Tea party with Daddy!

Lydia's favorites this month:
Going places, saying, "How you doing Mom/Dad?" raking leaves with Daddy, giving your baby sister a hug & kiss every night at bedtime, Kindermusik, dressing up & making Daddy wear a bow, saying "I need YOU, Mom!" dancing with Daddy, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, and trick or treating.
Lydia also tells me about 10 x's a day that she is excited for her cousins, Ho Ho Santa, & Baby Jesus to come visit at Christmas.  She's told this to everyone, including the doctor, nurse, and WalMart greeter :-)
When accompanying me to my OB checks, Lydia also asks the doctor if she is going to cut her baby sister out yet.  Hmm...

Lydia was very content to just watch Daddy carve the pumpkin and not touch anything "yucky."

Lydia's dislikes this month:
Peaches, pears, oranges, going to church nursery during Sunday School (she often goes with me to Sunday School or praise team practice), Daddy putting her to bed, driving in the dark, and waking up from nap most days.

You are not short on personality, Lydia Ruth!

Leaves!

Lydia loves raking with Daddy!  I wonder how many more years that will last...

Oh, those eyes say it all!

Trick or Treat!

Lydia thoroughly enjoyed trick-or-treating this year.  She loved having a reason to dress up as Princess Elsa :-)

Lydia trick-or-treated at both sets of grandparents, and even went to Great-Grandma Vermeer (and Mommy was mad she forgot to take a picture of that!).

Our downtown businesses hand out treats, too, so of course we had to stop at Daddy's store!  Then Daddy joined us for a walk downtown to grab some more candy and goodies.

Lydia also had a fall party at Kindermusik!  She thought it was pretty great that she was a princess and cousin McCoy was a dragon :-)

We got to sing some fun songs, play sound bingo and eat a treat, and make some fall crafts!

Scarecrow Farm

In the middle of October, we headed to Scarecrow Farm in Lawton for some more fall fun with friends!  I heard about this place from my sister-in-law, and it did not disappoint these four little girls!

They had a huge corn pit that they loved rolling and jumping in.

Lots of fun playgrounds, too!

I'm pretty sure Lydia's favorite part--besides being there with friends--was the giant jumping pillow.  She stayed on here for at least 20 minutes and kept right in there with all the little school kids on their field trip :-)

We ended our stay with a train ride!  None of the kiddos wanted to leave.  Maybe we'll have to go back next year!

Pumpkinland

One day in October, we met Hayley, Merritt, & McCoy at Pumpkinland for a chilly morning of fun!

Lydia loved seeing all the different pumpkins and gourds they had, and the kids enjoyed playing on all the fun playsets.

We even happened to see cousin Macy and Aunt Brandi who were on a kindergarten field trip!  Crazy!

Don't forget the animals and mini corn maze!

Lydia got to pick out one big pumpkin for Daddy to carve.  She also picked two little pumpkins to put in her wheelbarrow.  They were painting projects later on!

We were originally going to have a picnic there, but the chilly and damp weather didn't work well for picnics.  The kids settled for a giant, frosted pumpkin cookie instead :-)
