May seems like such a long time ago, and I completely neglected to write anything on Lydia's calendar all month! So here's what I can remember!
Lydia loved planting more in the garden--especially the peas!

Thankfully, Lydia has been doing better with naps in June, but we went through a phase where she would wake up after 30 minutes and want to lay by me on my bed...and have a deathgrip on my hair! |
We went to the Sioux Falls Zoo with Merritt and McCoy, which Lydia LOVED! We'll definitely be going there a couple more times this summer/fall.

This crazy band of six enjoyed McCoy's 2nd birthday party with a Wizard of Oz theme. They even got to go on a scavenger hunt around the farm! |
I decided to tackle the whole potty training thing this month. It's been about a month since we've first started, and Lydia is doing fairly well! She will pee on the potty most anytime you put her on, and she'll tell me "dirty diaper" when she needs to go. I'm not exactly sure why she just won't tell me "go potty" like I've been coaching, but I'll take it. Lydia basically refuses to poop on the potty--I think we've had success twice. I'm hoping that comes with time! This whole potty training experience has now made Lydia frequently ask me, "Mommy happy?" I promise I'm not always a crab, but she now will ask this when she thinks she's in some kind of trouble--like when she's refusing to eat or has just pooped in her pants. No, Lydia, Mommy is not happy when that happens. Apparently we're just having a little lesson on feelings! :-)
Lydia's likes this month:
Listening to "Old MacDonald had a Farm" on CD, ice cream, playing outside, reading and feeding The Very Hungry Caterpillar, playing with her kitchen, rocking her baby and telling her "Shh, I got you baby," talking up a storm, sighing and giving a pout face, talking ALL the time, helping Mommy around the house (dusting, emptying dishwasher, putting clothes in the dryer, etc), and her "pretty" new underwear.
Lydia's dislikes this month:
Every other meal I make, having to sit down and eat while somewhere new or with guests, pooping on the potty, being told "No," being done with Kindermusik.
We have done/are doing some fun things in June: staying overnight in Omaha--complete with swimming with friends and visiting the zoo, playing with TC cousins, maybe picking strawberries, and more!
Lydia--despite your stubbornness, you never fail to make us laugh with your antics, nonstop talking, and crazy facial expressions. We love you!
