Dells 2015

We went with some of the Ten Clay family to Wisconsin Dells a few weekends ago.  It was a quick trip, but we managed to pack in a lot of fun!

Lydia was reintroduced to the world of mini golf again this year.  She enjoyed roaming the course and clutching her ball and club.  Besides a few putts with Daddy, that was about the extent of her experience :)

On Friday, we went to Deer Park.  People are able to get very up close and personal with these deer!  Lydia enjoyed feeding them, and the deer enjoyed it, too!  I may have been slightly germaphobic during this experience...and I know I grew up on a farm!  But I also know how many times my 1 1/2 year old would have stuck her hand in her mouth after being covered in deer slobber!  :)

The rest of our time was filled with as much swimming as possible!  This child has NO fear of water.  Lydia loved the wave pool, any slide she was big enough (or not) to go down, and being sprayed by fountains.

No need to wonder where Lydia gets all those facial expressions from!

Lydia also had a blast going to the arcade!

At Knuckleheads, we played in this huge indoor play place.  Daddy took a turn for about 30 minutes, and then Mommy had to go with Lydia!  She wasn't quite big enough to be in there by herself, but she didn't let that stop her from having a ton of fun!

In the hotel room, Lydia got to spend lots of time with her cousins and meet baby Joseph!

Lots more memories made!

21 Months

Another month has flown by!  21 Months!  (How can Lydia only be 3 months away from turning two?!)
We have a lack of "everyday pictures" this month, but only because we were so busy doing many other fun things!  More posts to come on that!

Having a picnic snack with her friends... Are you hungry, Brownie Bear?

Time to read a story!
Lydia weighs about 26 pounds and is about 33 inches tall.  She is wearing a mixture of 18 and 24 months clothing.  We'll have to get rid of our 18 month shirts and pajamas very soon!  And Lydia is almost ready to wear a size 5 shoe at last!  That means new shoes, which Mommy AND Lydia love!
I hesitate to type this in case it changes, but Lydia is SO much better at sleeping lately!  After going to bed for the night at 9:00 pm, it's become quite normal for her to sleep in until 7:30-8:00 am!  Also, she has been taking more 1-2 hour naps!  Gasp!  I almost got worried when she slept for 2 hours & 15 minutes a week ago!  :)

I feel like we've been crazy busy this month, but it's probably not any more so than anybody else with kids!  Here are some of our highlights from this month:
9/2: First Kindermusik class!  We go to Sioux Center every Wednesday to enjoy a 45 minute music class (and Lydia gets to be in the same class as cousin McCoy and second cousin Grady!).  Lydia LOVES it!  She catches on to everything fairly quickly and is always eager to go!  We can't wait to see what the rest of the year will be like!
9/2: We made a quick trip to Sioux Falls to visit Great-Grandma Moss in the hospital.  She was going to have a big surgery, and we wanted her to see some friendly faces!  Thankfully, Grandma is back home and doing great!
9/9: On Labor Day, we went downtown to enjoy walking around the park and later watched the parade!
9/10-9/12: We went to Wisconsin Dells, but more on that later!
9/13-9/19: Lydia had a nasty cold all week!
9/15: Our little family braved the windy day and visited the Clay County Fair for the morning!
9/22-9/24: Lydia had an extended sleepover at Grandpa & Grandma Moss' when Mom had to fly to Indiana for a furniture market!  (Mom missed Lydia more than Lydia missed Mom...no surprise there!)

Labor Day Parade!
Playing piano with Merritt!
Lydia's likes this month:
Kindermusik, going to any park, playing on her slide, Papa's kitties, pretending to cook/eat, swimming and going down water slides, and dancing in the rain.
Lydia LOVES to sing Sunday School songs lately, and frequently asks for them.  She does pretty well with the actions for "This Little Light of Mine," "Deep & Wide," "If You're Saved & You Know It," and "I'm in the Lord's Army."  Pretty cute stuff to watch!

Literally sharing lunch with McCoy!
Lydia's dislikes:
Not being able to be independent enough, when the puzzle pieces don't go in just right, being told "No," and this week she hates all vegetables!

Dancing in the rain!
We CAN'T believe that in three short months our baby girl will be 2!  Lydia seems to grow in many ways every day.  We love you!
