Zoo time!

We were able to take a quick trip to the Sioux Falls Zoo this past week.  Lydia loves almost any type of animal, and with how much she enjoyed the Omaha Zoo, we knew this would be a hit, also.

Excited for the zoo!  Sitting face-forward, too!

Of course, Lydia's favorites were all the different types of monkeys.  She enjoyed seeing everything else, too.  This zoo is just about the perfect size for Lydia right now.  Since school had already started it was not very busy.  Lydia sometimes rode in the stroller, but often was able to walk around.  We got through the whole place in about 1 1/2-2 hours.

Kangaroo!  "Hop, Hop!"
Apparently this is a guanaco...looks like a llama to me!
High five, Mr. Monkey!

These guys were VERY entertaining.  We stopped to see them three times!  This fellow was busy swinging, and then later, all three of the monkeys were talking very loudly!  Lydia was almost a little scared by all of their racket!
Emu

Lydia loved petting the goats, sheep, and cow in the petting zoo!

Tiger!
Flamingos!
Komodo dragon
Bald eagle

Lydia attempted to milk the cow at the petting zoo, but Mrs. Moo was pretty dried up! ;-)

Bear

We loved seeing the giraffes.   We were even able to get pretty close to them!

We will definitely have to stop here again next year!  After our time at the zoo, we stopped to eat our picnic lunch at the park near there.  A fun day, indeed!

20 Months

Lydia is 20 months old!

This girl finally LOVES sweet corn!  She yells with excitement when she sees it on the supper table.  Lydia even likes to help husk it!  She usually has to give her buttery corn a hug at least once while eating it...

Lydia stayed about 25 pounds and is around the same height as last month.  She is still wearing mostly size 18 month clothes (with a few 24 month tops thrown in), size 4 diapers, and size 4 shoes.

Pretty girl dressed up for church!
We've been busy again this month, but with what I can't really say!  Our "Turbo" continues to have limitless amounts of energy and keeps us hopping--and laughing--everyday.  Lydia definitely has quite the personality.  She can be particular about some things, very determined, a tad bit mischievous, and very loving all at the same time!

Shelling peas

Lydia's likes/loves this month:
Grandparents!  Going to the park, sitting on the potty chair (and only actually accomplishing "something" for Grandma TC!), sweet corn, playing "wake up Grandpa Moss," feeding your baby a bottle, checking out books at the Hull Library, having a forward-facing carseat, pretending with food/kitchen things, monkeys, wearing only a diaper before bed, and running after other kids.

Feeding her baby
Lydia's dislikes this month:
Being told "No," having to leave the furniture store or grandparents' houses, every other meal Mom makes for you (even if you liked it the time before...), and the noise of Daddy's saw.

Making a fashion statement!
Next month will be a big one for us!  We'll (hopefully) go to the Labor Day parade and celebration in town, go to Wisconsin Dells for a few days, meet a new baby cousin, start weekly Kindermusik classes, and go to the Clay County Fair!

Loves her new Minnie shirt!

We love you, Turbo!
