19 Months!

Lydia is 19 months old!  Time keeps flying!

Loves Papa's kitty!
We were just at the doctor yesterday for her 18 month well child check (we're a little behind!).  Lydia weighs just shy of 25 pounds (50% for her age) and is 33 inches tall (90% for her age).  I'm not sure that is completely accurate, but it's in the books!

Giving George a ride
Loving on Ellie Anna!
Lydia has been busy like normal!  It seems we're always on the go this summer.  When it is time to settle down, Lydia has been a bit better napper than last month.  We sometimes get 40 minutes in the crib, and sometimes it's 1 1/2 hours.  You just never know!  Lydia is usually up between 6:30-7:30 yet, and doesn't go down for a nap until 2:00 and bed at 9:00.  Sometimes those days are long for Mommy!

Parade time!
Holding her cups hostage from Mommy...
Like I said, we've been busy!  Here's some highlights from the past month:
7/2-7/5: Yankton vacation with the Vermeer family
7/5: watched Daddy's fireworks for the first time & loved them!
7/7: started doing somersaults
7/11: went to Hull Summerfest parade
7/14: went to the Sioux County Fair to see the animals & watch the beef show
7/16-7/17: took a mini vacay to Omaha, complete with a waterpark & the zoo!  Got to see Trista & Korver!
7/18: double ear infection :(
7/21: 1st haircut!  Just a little trim in the back & bangs
7/25: went swimming with some of Daddy's friends at the hotel pool in town; played with Natalie!
7/26: played at the elementary school park
7/27: got a spanking for not listening & standing on the rolling kitchen chairs :(
7/29: 18 month checkup & rode bike to Hills Park to play!

Lydia is loving every minute of summer: bubbles, sandbox, swing, exploring outside, walks, bike rides, the farm, etc.  She continues to love books, going to the furniture store & the library, doing somersaults, George & Minnie, hats, and giving hugs!
Lydia hasn't liked anything (peas, green beans, sweet corn) we've had from the garden/field this year.  She did enjoy licking the butter off of the sweet corn!  Lydia also doesn't like the word "No."  No big surprise there!

We are blessed that Lydia continues to be a healthy and happy little girl!

Fair Time!

We visited Mommy's old stomping grounds a few weeks ago: Sioux County Fair!
Lydia watched her first beef show and cheered on her four cousins that were showing.  She actually sat through about a half hour of it!

Watching the shorthorn class
And of course, we just had to see and pet all the other animals at the fair!
Lydia loved every minute of it!

Rabbits!
Dairy cows!
Pigs!
Goats!
Sheep!
A pony and her baby!

Freeze Face!

Lydia had her first experience with a Mr. Freeze the other day.  Judging by the pictures and lack of finishing, I'd say she wasn't impressed...

Mini Vacay!

The three of us were able to take a short getaway to Omaha last week.  We left at 1:30 pm on Thursday and were home by 5:00 pm on Friday!  Quick!  We stayed at the Ramada hotel with a waterpark, CoCo Keys.  We only spent about two hours there on Thursday night, but Lydia loved every minute of it!

Loving the fountains
Lydia enjoyed every slide she went down!

On Friday morning, we headed to the Omaha Zoo!  We were able to meet up with one of my college friends, Trista, and her son, Korver!  Korver is about 6 months older than Lydia.  Lydia liked Korver from the start!  We had a great time checking out the animals.  Lydia loved the fish, parrots, and monkeys!  When we first got there, the big cats and bears were quite active.  Then came the 96 degree heat!  We stuck to the gorilla house, jungle, and aquarium around dinner time, and we were in our car to head back home by 1:00.  It was a fast and furious vacation, but still lots of fun!

Unfortunately, Lydia came down with a high fever on Friday night/Saturday morning.  The poor girl had a double ear infection!  :-(  She was never overly crabby while we were gone, and we just suspected she was teething again.  Oops!  Glad she's feeling better now!

Yankton 2015

We went with the Vermeer family to Yankton over July 4th weekend.  I thought last year was a different experience traveling with a baby, but this year was even more so!  It was a non-stop time of exploring for Lydia!  She had no desire to be cooped up in the cabin.  Instead, she was constantly running after her cousins, going on walks/bike rides, dragging Grandpa/Grandma/Uncle Adam/Aunt Brandi wherever she wanted to go, and lots of playing at the beach, lake, pool, and parks.  Thankfully, she slept through all the fireworks and a very loud thunderstorm at night!  When Lydia did experience Daddy's fireworks on the 5th, she LOVED them (from inside our car)!  This little girl is NOT afraid of very many things!
Here are some pics from our fun trip!
