5 Months!

Happy 5 Months, Lydia Ruth!

This little girl is growing by the minute!  We are guessing (by our not-so-calculated measurements) that she weighs approximately 16 1/2 pounds and is about 26 inches long.  We will be breaking out the 6-9 month clothes very shortly; otherwise her toes just might poke a hole through her sleepers!

Lydia eats 5 1/2-6 ounces every 3-4 hours during the day.  She is able to sleep through the night, and blesses us with that...when she feels like it.  Otherwise she is normally up once, but waking up for the day can occur anytime between 5:30-7:30 am.  We all know which end of that spectrum I prefer...  Napping is kind of spastic; several 30 minute naps can occur, or Lydia might choose to sleep for 2 hours!  We never seem to know which it might be, but she is usually tired after being awake for 2 or 2 1/2 hours.

Lydia has definitely figured out how to roll!  She doesn't necessarily roll clear across the room, but between rolling and "scooting" while on her back, she can cover some distance.  She decided to explore underneath her crib the other day...

...and was quite upset when I pulled her out!

Lydia loves "Daddy time."  Monday nights-when he has to work late-don't always go the best, as pictured above!  She also loves "Patty-Cake" and "Peek-a-Boo" lately.

Now that we finally have some beautiful weather, we are taking full advantage of it!  Grandpa Moss was nice enough to hang her swing in the tree this past week, and Lydia loves it!

Lydia also experienced grass for the first time this week, and she wasn't so sure what to think of it.  She would get frequent "shivers" from the tickly feeling!

Our biggest "first" this past month was trying cereal for the first time!

Not a fan...and still not loving it after 3 days!  We'll keep trying!

4 Months!

This post is a little late, but our Little Miss is 4 months old!  It's always hard to believe that another month has flown by!  We went in for her 4 month checkup last week, and Lydia weighs 14 pounds, 13 ounces (73rd percentile) and is 25 inches long (76th percentile).
Lydia is eating five or six 5 1/2 ounce bottles every day.  She is usually up for 2-3 hours at a time.  Her naps can last anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours--we never know what she's going to do!  She is able to sleep through the night (she slept 10 1/2 hours last night!), but she sometimes chooses to wake up once.  Lydia fought a little big of a respiratory infection last week, so she was struggling a little bit with some congestion.  Thankfully it wasn't serious enough to have to be on antibiotics!
Lydia found her voice this month!  She frequently wakes up happy and jabbering away!  Her facial expressions while she is talking are just priceless, and we frequently laugh at her.  She also found her hands!  They (or the toy she is holding) are now permanently in her mouth and promoting lots more drool!  The exersaucer and ball popper are her favorite toys lately, and Lydia continues to love stroller rides and singing.
She doesn't like being tired & hungry or not having a pipe & blanket when she's falling asleep.
Lydia has rolled over both ways a few times, but doesn't seem too anxious to accomplish this task with any kind of regularity.  She also seems to be trying to discover her feet lately!
We love you lots, Peanut!
